SCR, Inc. is a commercial and residential roofing contractor in Kemp, TX. We offer hail damage roof repairs, replacement, and new roof installation services.
Why choose our Kemp roofing contractors?
You need a permit to replace an old roof in Kemp if the project involves structural changes, full tear-offs, or repairs to the decking.
According to local building codes, permits ensure that the new roofing meets safety, wind resistance, and ventilation standards. The city reviews material specs, slope requirements, and underlayment types before approval.
Homeowners must apply through the city’s building department or have their contractor apply on their behalf. Work completed without a permit may result in fines or delays in the sale of your home. Always confirm local rules before starting a roofing project.
Our commercial roofers near you work with flat systems, low-slope membranes, and weatherproof coatings for retail centers, offices, and warehouses in Kemp TX.
We use TPO, PVC, and EPDM materials designed for energy savings, UV resistance, and long-term performance.
Before starting, we inspect drainage points, flashing, and equipment mounts. Then we build each layer of insulation, vapor barrier, and membrane based on the use and property size. These systems reduce leaks, lower utility costs, and extend the roof’s lifespan.
Our roofing company near you installs complete systems for homes in Kemp using wind-rated materials, ridge vents, and reinforced edges.
We begin with the complete removal of old layers, then install moisture barriers, underlayment, and shingles specifically designed for Texas weather.
We also upgrade roof ventilation to protect your attic and improve indoor comfort. Our installations comply with local codes and include a clear work plan, product guides, and a post-job walkthrough.
Our local roof installers handle complete installations, decking upgrades, and ventilation work across Kemp neighborhoods.
We inspect the framing and slope first, then match each roof to the structure’s needs. This includes selecting the appropriate shingle grade, flashing type, and ventilation system for the home.
We follow strict safety and code procedures during the installation process. Once completed, we clean up the site and issue warranty paperwork.
We replace old and damaged roofs by removing worn materials, repairing weak decking, and installing new components rated for long-term use.
We inspect for sagging, water stains, and surface cracks before commencing work. Then, we replace each layer, including the underlayment, drip edge, and shingles, to restore complete system integrity. This service helps prevent structural issues, reduce energy loss, and boost property value. Every replacement comes with a full inspection and materials documentation.
Our roof repairs near you restore storm-hit surfaces, seal hail strikes, and patch leaks caused by high winds or falling debris.
We respond fast with emergency repairs that stop water from entering your home. This includes tarping, flashing replacement, and resealing broken shingles.
After stabilization, we inspect the entire surface and fix weakened areas to prevent future leaks. All repairs meet the building code and include a condition report for insurance use.
We handle insurance recovery restoration by inspecting storm damage, documenting proof, and working directly with your adjuster to secure fair payouts.
Our team creates detailed photo reports and damage summaries for submission. We also attend adjuster meetings to ensure no detail is overlooked.
Once approved, we restore the roof using materials that match or exceed the original system. Our experience helps homeowners avoid denials, delays, and underpaid claims.

EXCELLENT Based on 60 reviews Posted on M Morrison2024-06-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I was very impressed with the timeliness of SCR. Brian was not only patient with my insurance company inspector, but he was patient with me deciding on the perfect roof and gutter colors, which turned out great. He is honest, professional and knowledgeable. SCR was really a one stop shop to fit my needs of roofing, screens, and gutters. I love doing business with a resourceful company, basically, all your needs are under one roofing contractor. Brian thank you for your excellent and timely service. Mia MorrisonPosted on Emmett Richardson2024-05-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After a recent hail storm I called SCR’s Brian Roderick to come by and help me prepare a claim for my insurance company. This was the second time that I had worked with him on a claim for roof damage. The first had been handled very professionally with excellent results so I didn’t hesitate to be a return customer. Brian came out, inspected my roof and prepared a report listing all damages noted and an estimated cost to repair. He reviewed the insurance submission process with me and gave me a Hail Storm Report listing the date and time of the storm, path traveled, and reported hail stone sizes to submit with my claim. He also asked me to request that he be able to accompany the insurance company inspector during his inspection trip. The Insurance Company Inspector met with Brian on the agreed date, inspected the property with Brian and basically agreed to his assessment. As the agreed roof replacement date approached, Brian came by and reviewed what would happen the next day and announced that the crew would arrive and start work around 6:30 am. They arrived on time and the first person to ring our doorbell was the Crew Chief who introduced himself and said that if I had any questions during the day that I should just ask for him and he would take care of them. My wife asked him to be careful of some of the plants in our flower beds and he promptly had the crew arrange tarps to provide protective tents over sensitive plants. The work proceeded through the day with an army of roofers. I had told Brian that my wife and I had a dinner engagement and he showed up at the time I had told him we needed to leave. He said he would stay until everything was finished, including cleanup. When we returned that evening everything looked great and the property looked better than when they started. Hopefully I won’t need similar roofing efforts in the future, but in North Texas, who knows? If I do SCR will receive the call without hesitation. If Brian commits to something you can write it in ink…..it ain’t going to change.Posted on Joan Moses2024-04-18Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. SCR did a wonderful job from the start. Giving us multiple options and prices for roofing material. Cody Williams, our rep, was in regular contact and helped answer many questions for us.Posted on Andrew Bassford2024-04-16Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. After a recent hailstorm, we received Mark and SCR's info from one of our neighbors after they had their roof replaced. Mark was very prompt in coming out and inspecting the roof. He helped guide us through the insurance claims and inspection process and helped facilitate the process of working with the insurance company. When it was time for the install, SCR had a large professional crew that came out and finished in about 6-7 hours. They did a good job cleaning up afterwards. It feels good going with a local experienced company, as some of the roofing folks that go door-to-door after weather events can be pushy. Mark and the team from SCR were very courteous and professional and didn't pressure us at any point in the process. We'll definitely work with SCR again in the future and would highly recommend them to others for honest pricing and quality work.Posted on Jay Newlin2024-03-23Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was a real pleasure to work with Mark Safford at SCR! He did a great job not only working with my insurance adjuster but also helped to navigate through my mortgage lender's third party Assurant. Mark's experience in the industry helped me to get the full value from my roofing claim, and his team did an excellent job getting the roof replaced with top-quality attention to details. I highly recommend working with Mark and his team!Posted on Mike Fisher2024-02-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thank you for a great job.Posted on Jeff Hague2024-02-08Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Fantastic job replacing my roof after a hail storm. Cody made the process easy, quick and painless. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and prompt. I will definitely be doing business with them in the future. Highly recommend!!Posted on Sheri Amiri2024-02-06Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wonderful experience with my recent roof replacement! Mark and his team were efficient and so easy to work with. Highly recommend. Roof looks great!Posted on J Mccoy2024-01-07Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was the best roofing experience, and we’ve dealt with several over the years with our rent houses. Brian was referred to me from a couple of neighbors. He came to the house and explained the process in detail, worked with our insurance company, gave me a couple of nearby addresses to drive by to help narrow down our choices. We have a steep roof with lots of angles and they finished in one day, cleaned up, and we have a great looking roof! I can’t say enough good things about them. Everything went flawlessly.Posted on Janie Carter2023-10-27Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent company! I will recommend Brian and his team at SCR, Inc to anyone needing roof repairs. They were punctual, hard working, honest and the quality of their work was beyond anything I've ever experienced. Thank you!

Before starting a roofing project, evaluate the material type, roof slope, ventilation, and local code requirements. Choose materials based on your climate and structure: shingles for pitched roofs, membranes for low slopes. Always check for proper drainage and attic airflow. A licensed contractor will help ensure the project follows city regulations and manufacturer standards.
Storm damage restoration protects the structure by replacing weakened materials, sealing water entry points, and reinforcing load-bearing areas. Roofing contractors inspect for wood rot, sagging, and hidden leaks. Repairs restore roof function and prevent long-term damage to ceilings, insulation, and framing. Timely restoration helps preserve the property’s safety and resale value.
Early signs that roofing repairs are needed include missing shingles, dark spots on the ceiling, and loose flashing around vents. You may also notice granules collecting in gutters or shingles curling at the edges. These signs mean the surface is failing to protect the structure. Addressing issues early prevents moisture intrusion and higher repair costs.
